During this year’s state conference, twenty-two students ran for six state officer positions. Each of these students developed their own poster, business cards, and speech for their campaign.  They traveled the halls of Seven Springs Hotel and Resort to introduce themselves to TSA students from across the state. After strong campaigns and many run-off elections, the following students will fulfill their state officer roles and begin organizing next year’s state conference at the Bucknell Leadership Conference this July.

Katherine Chen was elected into the office of President. She is currently a junior at Hampton High School.  Her experience on the state officer team as Secretary will help her prepare for her new role as President of PA-TSA.

Phil Hayes is a sophomore at Harriton High School.  As PA-TSA Vice President, Phil Hayes plans to continue his work with the Green Initiative as well as execute the duties of his office.

Liza Atillasoy is the newly elected PA-TSA Secretary. She is a freshman from Harriton High School in the Lower Merion School District. She has had multiple years of experience as the secretary of her TSA chapter. Liza is hoping to give back to an organization that has helped her develop confidence in her writing and speaking skills.

Dhruv Pillai is also a freshman at Harriton High School. Dhruv will be serving as the PA-TSA Treasurer.  He hopes to develop creative ideas to increase fundraising for the American Cancer Society in the year to come, especially by encouraging regional conferences to organize a fundraiser for their competition.

Kelsey Johnson is a sophomore at Quakertown High school.  As State Reporter, Kelsey is looking forward to creating a publication that will keep all TSA members across the state informed about what is occurring within the organization.  She is looking forward to meeting many intelligent and unique PA-TSA members.

Emily Bieber was selected by the voting delegates as the new Sergeant-at-Arms. Emily is a sophomore at Cedar Crest High School in the Cornwall-Lebanon School District. Emily’s friendly personality will be a great asset to PA-TSA as it welcomes all members of the organization to each level of competition.

These six state officers appointed two members of the team to Parliamentarian and Historian. Rachel Newell is a junior at Lower Merion High School who will be serving as the PA-TSA Parliamentarian. Rachel is looking forward to working with people who are as passionate as she is about improving PA-TSA. She wants to work at strengthening the link between general membership and the Board of Directors, as well as guide the state officer team in parliamentary procedure. The PA-TSA Historian is Jacob Ross. Jacob looks forward to documenting the next year’s activities through pictures, presentations, and videos.  He looks forward to talking to as many TSA members as possible.

The state officer team is compiled of many strong leaders.  PA-TSA looks forward to the positive effect of their creative ideas on this organization.
