I hope everybody had a wonderful new year and is as excited for the upcoming TSA season as I am. The State Officer team and I are anticipating another fantastic year of regional, state, and national competitions, and we’ve added some ideas that will hopefully make your TSA experience more enjoyable. We will be improving on some of the more familiar events, such as updating the Got Game event with new consoles and games, as well as keeping some of the classic events like the Friday Night Carnival & Dance. This year PA-TSA has been “Going Green”, so we’d love to see what color YOU are. Come to the dance decked out in one of your favorite colors (clothes, hair, body paint, etc.) and we’ll see how many different colors we can get mixed together under the strobe lights. Something newer that the officer team is introducing this year, will be the introduction of “Green” activities ,i.e. the technology recycling drive (See the Green page for more details, and the state officers will hosting a crash course on the chapter team event and other parliamentary procedures. So if you have some free time at States, we hope that you’ll take advantage of these activities, and much more.
Of course, work comes before play so before you get to regionals, there is a few things that I should direct your attention to. First, to anybody interested in running for state office, there will be some major changes in the application forms. Make sure that you get the updated forms to ensure that we receive your application. Second, make sure that you check out the new “Green Initiative” page on the website, especially the Electronic Waste Drive, which we are asking chapters to participate in between now and the state conference. Finally, there is the possibility that a bylaw amendment will be proposed this year at the state conference, so make sure you’re checking the website for updates on the amendment.
I hope that you have a enjoyable and safe regional conference, and good luck in all of your events!
